Sorry if this is awakening a dead thread, but I'm unable to download the Compressorizer, both installer and non-installer versions, and keep getting a 404 error when i click the links.
Has it been removed or is there anywhere else I could download the program?

Sorry, when I moved the site I forgot to keep a copy of the download script in the right place. Should be fixed now. :)

I can't get this to work - I have tried the no install version and the install version and I keep getting the following error: failed to initiate properly (0xc0000135). Not sure if it has anything to do with that I play my sims2 on a macbook pro through bootcamp or not - any suggestions?

You need to install .NET 1.1 in order for this to work properly. Just having .NET 2.0 will not cut it in most cases. Make sure you have .NET 1.1 installed and if you still have issues get back with me.

Thanks for this program. Is it normal for a folder to stay the same after I've compressed it sometimes? Some folders I did changed, some didn't.... but when I check the files individually, I do see the change. That kinda bafffles me though :P

Just a quick question, in the manual you say,"especially not Windows Vista", has anyone used the compressorizer successfully with Vista?

I read the manual and looked through the replies here and wondered if it is still possible to recolor or clone files after compressing?

Hi :D

I just came across this and it looks like an excellent program. I had a couple questions about though.

After reading through your comments, I saw that the compressed files are no longer able to be edited by SimPE or scanned with Delphy's DL Organizer. All of which I understand the reason. But are the compressed files compatible with your Wardrobe Wrangler? I didn't see anything about that in either topic.

Also, the manual states that this doesn't work with Windows Vista. But it didn't say why except that it would blow up the computer. Is this referring to Vista's known issues or will the program really not work with it? Any particular reason why? And does that still apply as of now OCT 2009?

Anyway, just want to cover all my basis before I do something stupid and have to come to you for help

Thank you for updating the downloads links.
I have a question though.
I am currently using Windows 7, and I'm pretty sure that I can assume that this:

Quote:
No guarantee is made for any other Windows operating system, especially not Windows Vista
since it's likely to explode into a giant fiery ball visible from space for no particular reason at
all, and without warning.

Applies to this OS as well? Can you please explain what exactly forces the program to be incompatible?
Would it run succesfully in XP Compatibility mode?

Thanks. :)

Hello my name is Amber, I've used the compressorizer for quite a while I think Beta 2 was the first version I used. I've always been able to resolve any problems with google but I am getting the failed to initialize 0xc000007b error now with the versions of XP I'm using now. Sadly googling Compressorizer 0xc000007b showed no results at all and checking on Microsoft mostly showed results for vista even though I specified XP. Googling Compressorizer "Failed to Initialize" only showed posts about Delpy's download Organiser, Nothing about the Compressorizer. I have all the .Net versions installed and am running windows XP Pro SP3.

All the info you need should be in that pic, Though it doesn't show my 8GBs or RAM. The Compressorizer is not generating any error text files or anything. Because Sims 3 is still a baby as far as CC goes I decided to play Sims 2 again but without being able to use the compressorizer I'm not sure I want to now since my Downloads folder was in the 9GB range uncompressed.

Hey Amber,

Sorry, not sure about that error. Usually one of those errors is a .NET related thing, so maybe reinstalling .NET would help. Otherwise I don't know what to suggest.

To everyone asking about Windows Vista/7: I wrote that originally out of sarcasm and hate for Vista since I had a new laptop with Vista that was giving me a buttload of problems. I didn't want to have to deal with any questions about problems with Vista. I've run the compressorizer on Vista AND 7 with no problems, so you needn't worry about it.

Hi there,

I just want to say thank you for answering my question about Vista :) As for reading the manual, I did back in October. Which is why after reading about the incompatability with Vista, I didn't download it. But when I recently tried to get the PDF again, I just get the message that the page can't be displayed. And in the compressorizer download, the extra files that come with it, for some reason my computer says it can't open or read those files without searching online for a program that can.

I'm sorry I'm being a pain in the arse :o If it helps, the version I downloaded was from MATY and not from this forum. I don't know if there's a difference between them. Should I download this version and see if it'll open for me? Or maybe I should redownload Microsoft net 1.1 or something. As you can tell, I'm completely computer illiterate :help:

EDIT: Okay, I downloaded it from this site and it's launched. And the read me file launched with it  So again, I apologize for wasting your time. But thank you for at least answering me.

Should be able to edit them without a problem, yes, but once saved file size may increase because SimPE doesn't compress them back as well. You can just recompressorize.
