Here's another new program, The Sims 2 Pets Custom Content Updater is a program designed to help you update your custom content to be compatible with, and usable by, the pets in the new expansion.

Simply pick a directory and it will list all the new object meshes in that directory. You can then view the price, name, description, and catalog sort of the item and update it if need be.

It's a very simple process, and I hope you all find this program to be helpful! :)

Installation Information:

- If you download the installer: extract the EXE file from the zip and run it. It will place all the program files in their proper places, and create a shortcut for you.
- If you download the "no installer" version: extract the zip and it's contents into the folder of your choice, and then launch the "TS2PetsCCUpdater.exe" file to start the program.

Version Information and Download Links:

Version: 1.01
Copyright 2006-2007 DJS Sims and the Sims Programming Group

Requires: Microsoft Windows and the .NET Framework Version 1.1.

Download Links:
Download the Installer Version: Download!
Download the "No Installer" Version: Download!

Will have to try this one - as soon as I organize the downloads currently exploding my computer! (Hubby finally agreed I need more RAM and a new video card so getting prepared to actually play the game.) Converting all the lovely downloads to pet enabled is fantastic - thank you so much.

This program was awesome for pets. I'm wondering if there will be a new one for Seasons? Cause I have an awful lot of stuff that I really don't want to have to dump because of this new expansion.

Yes, this will be updated for Seasons when I get the chance. Smile

Excellent jfade! I just downloaded this and can't wait to try it out. I'm sure from the descriptions in the first post and the replies above, that it's a good, quality program.

Thanks!
Ben

Thanks for this handy program. It works great except for the mirrors. Every time I try to change appearance of a pet, Sims just jumped out of action.
Can you fix it when you release the next version?

I'll look into it and make sure it works, but in all honesty, I believe that's already been fixed. Are you sure you are running the right version?

Yes, it's the newest version 1.01, freshly downloaded and installed. I tested it on a half of dozen cc mirrors and it all jumped.

I stumbled upon your thread about this program on MATY peasantry section, then I've found out that you've posted an update there fixing the mirror issue.

http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/i ... #msg198529

Installed the fix, update a mirror, and it works beautifully! Surprised
Apparently this fix is not included in the installer version on the main page yet. Could you check it out?

Anyway thanks for the fix. Thumbs Up!

Ahhh, good point. I shall have to do that soon, but I'm kinda holding off because I want to update the whole program in general first to be better overall. Smile

HELP! I have some more questions.

1. What exactly does "lounger" mean? Is it different from a recliner? As I'm not a native English speaker, sometimes I can't catch subtle difference. Confused

2. Is it possible to update cc sofas cloned from park benches? If I pick the type as sofas, they throw constant object errors in the game.

A lounger is a chair they will sit and lean back in, it's usually pretty long to start with. A recliner, however, looks like a normal chair, but sims can sit in it and then it will lean back and look longer. It's not that way to start with like a lounger is. Does that make sense? If not, I can get a screenshot. Smile

As far as the park bench issue, I'm not sure about that one. I'll have to see if it's somehow different from the normal sofas, though it really shouldn't be. Stupid Maxis. th

Aha! Now I can see that the left one in above picture is a lounger, and the right one a recliner. I paid little attention to the difference, as they are all categorized under the same subsort.

I also noticed that pets can chew/scratch recliners, but not loungers. So THAT was the reason cc updater had separate types to choose from...

Thanks for clearing up. ;)

I am a Macintosh user and I was never successful with getting the CCU to run by installing the Mono Frame program and I gave up months ago. I took another shot at it today and I must be doing something wrong, because it still will not run. If there is another Mac user out there, maybe you can suggest what might be the problem.
1. I downloaded and installed the latest version of MonoFrameWork
2. I downloaded the uninstaller version of CCU
3. I unzipped it to my desktop
4. I opened up the Terminal program, which has the line: Shirley-Jordans-G5-Tower:~ Shirley$
5. At the insertion point I copied and pasted the path: Shirley Jordan's G5 Tower/Macintosh HD Desktop/Users/Shirley/Desktop/TS2PetsCCUpdater1.01 Folder/TS2PetsCCUpdater.exe
6. So the whole command line reads: Shirley-Jordans-G5-Tower:~ Shirley$ Shirley Jordan's G5 Tower/Macintosh HD Desktop/Users/Shirley/Desktop/TS2PetsCCUpdater1.01 Folder/TS2PetsCCUpdater.exe
7. I now have a prompt ">". I have tried typing in "run", without quotes and nothing happens except I get a new command line with the same prompt.

As I said, I have never used terminal before and I couldn't find much help that I understood in the Help file. Any help with this would be appreciated. :help:

Hi StamperCat,

This would apply to both of your posts here and in the collection creator thread. You have to put the word "mono" in front of that command, so you'd type in the command like this:

mono Shirley Jordan's G5 Tower/Macintosh HD Desktop/Users/Shirley/Desktop/TS2PetsCCUpdater1.01 Folder/TS2PetsCCUpdater.exe

That should start it. You may need quotes around the entire path though.

I will warn you now though, the Pets CC Updater will likely not work on Mono, but the collection creator should. :) You may still get a crash though with the collection creator depending on which version of mono you have as one of them had a bug in it that prevented programs built in VB from running.

Thankfully the next program I'm currently working on uses all C# so it runs better on mono than these two even. :)

It is possible, yes, but not currently planned at this time. I have other programs that are currently at the top of my priority list that I want to take care of. :)
