The Sims 2 Wardrobe Wrangler will help you to do all of the following: - Keep Organized: Manage all your custom CAS related content items, edit them into proper categories, change tool tips, set proper color bins, and sort through your files quickly and easily!
- Advanced Functions: Townify, set shoe sounds, and do other things that you would otherwise need a knowledge of a more advanced tool to do.
- Orphan Scanner: Scan for orphan meshes or textures.
- Edit Genetics: Change genetic properties such as genetic power of skin tones, dominance of eye colors, and more.
- And so much more!
Installation Information:- If you download the installer: extract the EXE file from the zip and run it. It will place all the program files in their proper places, and create a shortcut for you. The manual is included. - If you download the "no installer" version: extract the zip and it's contents into the folder of your choice, and then launch the "WardrobeWrangler.exe" file to start the program. Version Information:Current Version: 1.1 Copyright 2008 DJS Sims and the Sims Programming Group Changelog:Changes Since Version 1.0:New Features: * "Clear Deleted Items" Button added to Advanced panel * "Copy To All" button added for Accessory bins. (Requested by millahnna) * New Tray Icon. Anytime the program gets marked as "Busy", the main window will disappear and the icon will appear in the tray. You can then mouseover it to see what it's currently working on. This helps prevent hanging for people with enormous amounts of downloads. * New menu bar at the top of the program. * Minimize to tray option added to Menu Bar. * EXPERIMENTAL: Batch Townify Option added to Menu Bar. (DO NOT PERFORM THIS WITHOUT GOOD BACKUPS.) (Requested by SealJuice) * New option to send all items in the file list to the deletion queue added to Menu Bar. (Requested by witch) * Copy To All button added for category, gender, and shoe flags under the basic properties tab. (Requested by wandersfar) * Free Time Mesh Information added. Bug Fixes: * Files that are in use by another program will no longer cause program to throw an error. It will instead quietly remove them from the list. * "Suggested Alternate Bin List" now properly stores changes you make with it to the CPF. * YA clothing should now be properly Townified. (Reported by janey845, anaidrabbit, and Gwillewyn) * A few bugs in the Mass Move function squashed. (Reported by witch) * The labels on the filters now reset between folder loads. (Reported by witch) * Items that are just tops or just bottoms will now only be able to be set as everyday clothing. (Reported by witch) * Fixed some bugs relating to skintone genetics. (Reported by omgoblin) * Fixed some bugs relating to upgrading accessories to BV jewelery. (Reported by atreya) * Fixed the duplicate file move bug in the Orphan Scanner (Reported by Wynter) Behaviour Tweaks: * "Townify" button will no longer be disabled if an item has already been townified allowing you to fix the items you've already townified that were townified improperly causing the clothes to be unavailable to YAs. Instead, the text will simply change to "Already Townfied" if it detects that you've previously townified the item. * Filtering content will now make use of the new tray icon. * Items that are just tops or just bottoms will be labeled as such under "Content Type" at the top of the Basic Properties tab. Firstly, great idea, this is exactly what ive been looking for for ages, since starting downloading custom content clothes.
but ive been having a problem with it. i found a tutorial not a very good one in my opinion. not very detailed, but bits could be pieced together. but when i downloaded it adn installed it i found a maxis dress and saved it with a tag in bodyshop, and then in wardrobe wrangler i clicked pick source floder and found it in projects but no picture appeared in the image preview area, and no information at all in side bar. it really doing my head in. it also said i can re catagorize custom content clothes but i cant do that either, or if anyone knows a more detailed tutorial. id be very greatful for any help.
Thanks

Thanks You'll want to load the new custom content package you created from the Saved Sims folder, not the projects folder. Package files in the projects folder should not be altered or distributed because they won't show up in people's games otherwise. If you read through the entire manual that comes with the program it should answer most of your questions.

For some reason whenever I try to run the program it restarts my computer. Do you have any clue why it would do that? I'm running XP.

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but the program threw an error for me that was "not at all expected," and so I am posting the logfile.txt as requested.

First of all, thanks a lot for your great programs and for sharing your efforts with all of us! Wardrobe Wrangler saves a ton of time and works perfectly for me (btw - I use DotNET 3.5 on WinXP Pro SP3) - and that includes the "townify" batch. May I please humbly request an additional feature that would be the icing on the cake for me? I think a batch routine to remove all tooltips from the files in queue would be appreciated by other neat freaks like myself. On the one hand I don't like being spammed with web site URL's by every other clothing I hover my mouse over, and on the other hand getting rid of all those text strings would maybe save an additional bit of disk space, especially for those nuts (like me) among us who have a gazillion clothes in their downloads folder. Thanks again, and keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for a great program!
I'm experiencing what I think is a bug. But, I am not a very advanced modder so I might be doing something wrong and I'm really sorry if this is a stupid question!
I seem to be unable to change the color bin to custom for individual property sets. For example, say I have a hair that is brown, so I bin it as brown and click "Copy to All." However, the elder hair for this hair isn't actually grey, and I want it to go in the custom bin. So I go to the elder property set, and change the color bin to 00000006-... (which is what I have normally used as custom, with success). I then save the file (without clicking "Copy to All," of course). However, if I navigate away from and then back to that property set, it still shows up as grey, and sure enough, are still binned as grey in game.
I have this same problem with ages other than elder, as well, and it still happens whether or not I have ever used "Copy to All" on that file. I can change an individual property set from any color bin to any other color bin, except custom. Changing to custom (by putting in 00000006-... or a random sequence, or anything else) only works if I copy it to all (except for the elder property set, which is of course automagically made grey). But of course, that's not always what I want to do.
Any help at all that you can offer is very much appreciated!

This looks like an awesome download! Just one question: How do you make this work for Macintosh? When I downloaded the "Install" version of this, I expanded the .zip file and nothing popped up. Nothing began running. I am unable to open this. I also downloaded the "No Install" version. I got more things, but I am unsure of how to get things running for Macintosh.

Alas, Kairin, this is a Windows-only program.
Jfade: any chance we will see another update? At the very least it would be nice to get an updated MaxisMeshes.txt out now that there will be no more expansions or stuff packs. (There's other stuff I'd like to see, but as I understand it you are into Sims 3 programs now, so you'd probably not be interested in doing a lot more work on this.)
Heck, if there are any users who have updated MaxisMeshes.txt for themselves, it would be awesome if said file could be uploaded in this thread...
Edit: Just got one of those "Please send this log to jfade" error messages; thought I'd edit instead of double-posting.
Error: The process cannot access the file "D:\Documents and Settings\MYNAME\Desktop\Petchy-FR-'kiki-AlienSkins! - Red Speckles.package" because it is being used by another process. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String str) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, Boolean useAsync, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access) at CCB.IO.FetchResourceCount(String PackagePath) at CASItemEditor.Form1.LoadItemDetails(String FilePath) at CASItemEditor.Form1.lstFiles_SelectedIndexChanged(Object sender, EventArgs e)
It seems fairly explicable. I opened this file with SimPE, then opened all files on the desktop with WW. It threw this error when trying to look at the also-open-in-SimPE file. Seems like this error could give an error message like "This file is open somewhere else, so WW can't access it" instead of asking the user to send the log file.

Hello I got a message while trying to bin hair and it look like this- I looked around, but i didn't see any "Testing area", so i don't know where to submit that, and i have quite a few of those with different numbers on them. Should i post them here, or is there an actual testing area and i just missed it?

When you delete an item or items, they delete after you close the program. The surefire way to close the program properly is to click the large 'EXIT' button. You're going to have clarify and detail what you mean when you talk about binning hairs. Did you try reading the manual?

I've been getting an error message whenever I click a file from the file list after loading a folder. I've tried reinstalling with the no-install version and moving the files I need to another directory but nothing seems to be working. I also made sure I had NET.framework 1.1.
