Work has already begun on various Sims 3 programs that should be fairly helpful once the game is released. At this point, one of the programs will be released tomorrow on the day of the game's release (June 2nd). The other will be released some time after that. Wherever possible, my programs will use Java for cross-platform goodness. I can already tell you though that my second program will NOT be written in Java, and will likely be Windows only. Here's some important things to keep in mind:
- All programs will be in BETA state until we can verify that they all work properly. I repeat, programs are BETA and you are using them at your own risk. Bugs should be reported in this forum in the appropriate threads for the program you are using. Wherever possible, logs and screenshots should be posted.
- If you don't like Java or C# or whatever language the program happens to be written in, DON'T COMPLAIN. I don't care if Java is evil or .NET sucks or whatever your complaint is. I work hard on these programs and I'm not going to recode everything just because you don't like a particular langauge.

- Any .NET programs will require the .NET Framework version 2.0, not version 1.1 as I had been using in the past. Plan accordingly.
- Feature requests ARE welcome, but only if done properly. By done properly, I mean without complaining about how horrible the program is and how wonderful it would be if I added feature X. I'm open to ideas but if you have a bad attitude I'm likely going to take your idea less seriously.

Failure to take these points seriously will result in your post either being moved, deleted, or otherwise mocked.
So, that said, look for the first program soon!
